|Venad| Some yummy Broccoli recipes



 
Ingredients

Broccoli 1head
Onions1chopped
Milk 2 cups
Cabbage1 cup chopped
Butter1 tbspn
Salt to taste
Pepper To taste
 
Recipe
Cut the broccoli into florets. Steam them for 4 mins. Keep a cup of florets aside.
Heat the butter in a pan and sauté the onion till it is transparent.
Add the cabbage and sauté for 1-2 minutes. Add the milk and bring to a boil.
Blend the broth and pass through a sieve. Heat again.
Add the salt and pepper and florets and serve.
Serves: 5-6
 
 
Ingredients
Broccoli Florets 2 cups
Carrot 1 cup grated
Tomato 1 cup sliced
Pasta Penne 1 cup boiled
Oil 1 tspn
Cheese 1 tbspn grated
Salt to taste
Paprika or Chilli flakes 2 pinches
 
Recipe
Boil the broccoli in an open pan for two minutes and cool.
Boil the penne in water, to which a tspn of oil and ½ tspn of salt is added. Cool.
Mix with all other ingredients, toss and serve.
Serves: 5-6
 
Grilled Broccoli
Ingredients

Broccoli 2 cups florets
Cauliflower 2 cups florets
Red pepper 1 (Capsicum can also be used)
Curd 1 cup
Gram flour 1 tbspn
Ginger/garlic paste 1 tspn
Chaat Masala ½ tspn
Red chilli powder ½ tspn
Salt to taste
 
Recipe
Steam the broccoli and cauliflower for 4 minutes. The vegetable should not turn soggy.
Mix all the other ingredients together to form a paste.
To this Add the red pepper cubed, Add brocolli and cauliflower.
Mix and marinate for at least two hours.
Skewer on a sheek and grill.
Alternately after marinating, grease an oven plate and place in the oven till done.
Serves: 5-6
 
 
Ingredients

Broccoli florets - 18-20
All purpose flour - 3 spoons
Rice flour - 2 spoons
Ginger garlic paste - 1/2 spoon
Chili powder - 1/2 spoon
Salt - to taste
Oil - to deep fry(1/2 cup to 1 cup)
 
Recipe
Add All purpose flour, Rice flour, Ginger garlic paste, Chili powder and Salt in a bowl.

Add little water to the ingredients and make a more liquid like paste.

Add the Broccoli florets and mix well to the spice and flour mix.

Heat Oil in a pan. Once the oil is hot enough add the flour coated Broccoli florets to the oil and fry till the broccoli turns into golden brown.

Serve hot as a snack or as a side dish.
 
Creamy Broccoli Pasta
 
Ingredients
8 ounces pasta
1 bunch cooked broccoli floret, drained
5 medium fresh basil leaves
3 tablespoons butter
3/4 cup heavy cream
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
salt and pepper to taste
Recipe
Cook pasta until tender; drain. In food processor with steel blade, combine broccoli, basil, butter and cream. Pulse to purée. Add Parmesan cheese and pulse to blend. Mix broccoli mixture into drained pasta; stir. Cook, stirring, over medium-low heat. Add salt and pepper. Serve when heated through.

Stir-Fried Chinese Broccoli
 
Ingredients

3 tablespoons vegetable oil
4 garlic cloves, smashed
2 lb Chinese broccoli , ends of stems trimmed and broccoli cut into 1-inch pieces
1/2 cup Thai chicken stock or canned chicken broth
2 tablespoons Thai yellow bean sauce
2 tablespoons oyster sauce
2 teaspoons sugar
 
Recipe
Heat oil in wok over high heat until hot but not smoking, then stir-fry garlic until pale golden, 10 to 15 seconds. Add broccoli and stock and stir-fry 2 minutes. Add bean sauce, oyster sauce, and sugar and stir-fry until broccoli is crisp-tender, 4 to 5 minutes.
